BEE KEEPING

Bee-keeping
Sustainable Livelihood Through Beekeeping & Honey Production
The Bee Keeping initiative by Baba Laxmi Narayan Sewa Samiti (BLNSS) focuses on promoting sustainable livelihood opportunities for marginalized farmers and rural youth. By providing bee boxes, training, and market linkages, the program enables beneficiaries to generate income through honey production while also enhancing agricultural productivity through improved pollination.
This eco-friendly initiative supports both income generation and environmental sustainability.
Project Objectives

  1. To promote beekeeping as a sustainable income-generating activity

  2. To provide training and resources to farmers and rural youth

  3. To increase honey production and improve market access

  4. To enhance crop productivity through natural pollination

  5. To support eco-friendly and sustainable agricultural practices

Implementation Strategy
BLNSS identifies interested beneficiaries and provides them with bee boxes along with hands-on training in beekeeping practices, including hive management, honey extraction, and maintenance.

The initiative also ensures market linkage support so that beneficiaries can sell their honey and related products efficiently, maximizing their income potential.
Sustainability and Future Scope
Beekeeping is a low-investment and environmentally sustainable activity that can be easily integrated with farming. It enhances biodiversity and supports long-term agricultural growth.

The initiative has strong potential for scaling, including value-added products like processed honey, wax products, and expansion into larger markets.
