Strengthening Women Empowerment Through Financial Inclusion
The Self-Help Group (SHG) Bank Linkage Programme by Baba Laxmi Narayan Sewa Samiti (BLNSS) is designed to empower women from marginalized communities by connecting their Self-Help Groups (SHGs) with formal banking institutions. This initiative enables women to access credit for income-generating activities, promoting financial independence and sustainable livelihoods.
By strengthening financial literacy and group management, the program builds a strong foundation for long-term economic empowerment.
Project Objectives
1. To promote financial inclusion among rural women through SHGs
2. To provide access to formal banking and credit facilities
3. To enhance financial literacy and record-keeping skills
4. To support income-generating activities and entrepreneurship
5. To strengthen group management and collective decision-making
Implementation Strategy
BLNSS mobilizes and supports women to form Self-Help Groups consisting of 10–15 members. These groups are trained in savings practices, financial literacy, bookkeeping, and group governance.

After maintaining a consistent savings record for 6–12 months, SHGs are linked with banks and financial institutions. Based on their performance and requirements, groups are eligible for loans ranging from ₹50,000 to ₹2,00,000, enabling them to start or expand income-generating activities.
Sustainability and Future Scope
By linking SHGs with formal banking systems, the initiative ensures long-term financial sustainability and continuous access to credit. It encourages savings habits, responsible borrowing, and entrepreneurship among women.

The program has strong potential for expansion, reaching more communities and integrating with government and financial schemes for broader impact.
